Dennis Amofa, an assistant New Patriotic Party Secretary at Kwabre East, has opened up on the slaps he received from Kwaku Duah and his girlfriend during the recently held Kumawu by-election.
Giving an account of what transpired at the Kumawu Anglican Junior High School where he had been stationed as a polling station coordinator, Dennis Amofa revealed that he was wrongfully accused by the main independent candidate of distributing money to voters.
According to him, his duty was to assist voters at the center but was attacked on the voting day by Kwaku Duah and his girlfriend.
“Kwaku Duah together with his girlfriend followed me to the place where I had gone to pass urine and accused me of sharing moneys to voters”, Dennis Amofa said on Wontumi TV.
Kwaku Duah’s girlfriend was first to threaten him with a slap when they had followed him to a male urinal to intimidate him.
Narrating what happened at the washroom, Amofa stated that Kwaku Duah screamed at him that “young man you are the one sharing money to voters” whiles his girlfriend joined in that “they will slap me”.
“He tried slapping me and his wristwatch landed on my face and phone damaging my phone screen in the process. I reported the matter to my superiors and they led to the police to report the case. I wanted to go home but I was later given a place to hide and all the people around testified to what they saw Kwaku Duah, his girlfriend and aide did to me”
After slapping Amofa, Kwaku Duah who placed third in the Kumawu by-election, left the scene.
“Many people asked me what I did after he slapped me but I told them I was calm because they were three in number when they came to attack me and I couldn’t have fought back so I acted calmly”.
The matter has been reported to the Police.
