A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adofo Ofori, has revealed that the party inherited over 1 billion dollar electricity debt.

He made this known when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Monday, 27th June 2022.

His revelation comes at the back of Okudzeto’s claims on President Akufo-Addo’s travel to Belgium and Kegali in Rwanda.

He said, “if President Akufo-Addo was your father I am not sure you would want him to pick a train. He should stop the lies. You are here creating lies about the President. The President is doing a lot of projects and he must be commended. We currently have twenty-seven warehouses for the 1 district 1 warehouse project’’.

He told the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu that If he has an issue with the President chartering flight, then he should park his car and pick okada or trotro and use the fuel money to help the poor.

He further added, ”when President Akufo –Addo assumed power he inherited over 1 billion dollars Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) debt and it is this same travels that helped the President to negotiate for funds to clear the debt. The travels are to the benefit of the country. There are a lot of Astroturf being built and we have been able to secure roads for inner city.  We all saw how the NDC’s embezzled state funds to their benefit”.

He stressed that the President’s travel is benefitting Ghana-talk of Twitter headquarters and Google artificial intelligence office in Accra.
