NPP Holds Presser On Upcoming Constituency, Regional And National Elections
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a press conference on the upcoming Constituency, Regional and National elections of the party.
Speaking at a press briefing in Kumasi on Wednesday, the General Secretary of the Party, John Boadu congratulated all winners and losers of the polling station elections.
He said that polling station elections so far have not been without challenges.
He said the National Executives Committee of the party is sensitive to the concerns of members who have dragged to court issues of the polling station election.
Constituency Elections
The NPP General Secretary said that the Constituency election will be organised between 28th April- 2nd May 2022.
John Boadu relayed the following dates for the constituency election process:
Opening and closing of nominations- 19th- 20th April 2022
Vetting of Aspirants- 21st- 22nd April 2022
Hearing of Appeals- 23rd- 24th April 2022
Printing of election materials- 25th – 27th April 2022
Regional Elections
John Boadu indicated that the Regional Elections will be held between 27th and 29th May 2022.
The process will be as follows;
Opening and closing of nominations – 15th -20th May 2022
Vetting of Aspirants- 21st – 22nd May
Hearing of Appeals – 23rd – 24th May 2022
Printing of election materials- 25th – 26th May 2022
National Elections
He underscored that the committee for planning the conduct of the National Officer election will be announced in due course. However, the date remains 14th- 16th July 2022.
He said the National Delegates Conference will be held in Accra.
Below is the electoral process for the National elections;
Opening and closing of nominations- 1st – 4th June 2022
Vetting of Aspirants- 7th – 10th June 2022
Presentation of vetting report – 14th June 2022
Hearing of appeals- 15th – 20th June 2022
Presentation of appeals report – 22nd June 2022.
John Boadu disclosed that except for the National Officer elections forms, the Constituency and the Regional elections nomination forms will be available online and all the Party’s handles.
He said that the election will be conducted by the Electoral Commission.
