Reiterating some feats attained by the NPP government in the TVET service whiles speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Political Show on Movement TV, Mrs. Twum- Ampofo noted that the government’s decision to make TVET education free is yielding positive results- as about One Hundred and Forty-One (141) TVET centers have been enrolled unto the Computerized School Selection Placement System in addition to the already forty-seven (47) schools.

She disclosed that the policy has also led to an increase in the number of TVET schools from 47 to over 200 accompanied by improved infrastructure and equipment.

She said, “the NPP government has revived hope and brought smiles to many homes for making TVET enticing and the preferred educational  option  in the country. There are many Junior High students with a single aggregate but they prefer to be enrolled at a TVET centre, which was very rare some years back”.

The deputy Education Minister stressed that as part of government’s effort, it has signed a contract with Planet One group, a construction firm for the upgrading and modernization of vocational schools including the construction of a one stop shop TVET centre of Excellence in Abramkese in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti Region and eight other centres in some parts of the country.

“The centre of excellence is a one stop shop which will comprise modern training infrastructure, laboratories and workshops with all the needed and necessary tools, hostels, dining hall among others”, she reiterated.
