The General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. John Boadu, has ordered for the Regional Chairmanship elections in Ashanti region to be put on hold following quibbles over the right of TESCON members to vote.
A ‘bad’ decision by Odeneho Kwaku Appiah to prevent TESCON members from participating in the election process generated an unnecessary controversy forcing the NPP chief scribe to suspend the process.
Wontumi FM’s reporter, Nana Konadu Abu-prah reported that the Electoral Commission of Ghana has stopped the election process and placed their seals on the ballot boxes until further notice.
He explained that the boxes would be transported to the Police station for security reasons.
He added that until the TESCON issue is resolved, Mr. John Boadu has ordered that the election can’t go on.
