The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has extended its ongoing membership registration exercise to the Adum PZ market in Kumasi, bringing the sign-up process directly to the doorstep of market men and women a deliberate effort to capture traders whose busy schedules keep them away from conventional registration points.
Addressing the media on the first day of the exercise, NPP Organizer hopeful Dennis Kwakwa, who led the party delegation, said the initiative is aimed at reaching out to existing party members who do not yet hold a party card, as well as registering new members who wish to join the NPP.
“We are calling on traders to utilize this opportunity to register their identity in the party — so they can be recognized for party activities, future opportunities, and support for members. It also helps us build a credible database of party members.”
Kwakwa also used the occasion to signal his readiness for the organizer role, stating that the exercise demonstrates to party delegates that he has both the capacity and the commitment to serve — with his sights firmly set on delivering victory for the party in 2028.
He was accompanied by Ashanti Regional Communication Director Paul Kwabena Yandoh, alongside party executives from polling stations, constituencies, and TESCON student groups.
The response from traders was warm. Market women and men turned out in significant numbers, commending the party for bringing the registration to their place of work.
They urged their fellow traders not to miss the opportunity to have their identities formally registered within the party.
