Nigerian DJ Association Bans Burna Boy Songs After Alleged Assault On DJ Tunez

The Nigerian DJ Association has announced a temporary ban on all songs by Burna Boy across its network, following an alleged assault involving popular DJ Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, popularly known as DJ Tunez.

The incident reportedly occurred at a private event in Lagos, where Burna Boy and members of his entourage were allegedly involved in a physical altercation with DJ Tunez. Eyewitnesses and videos circulating on social media show that DJ Tunez was slapped and stomped, allegedly after refusing to remove Wizkid’s playlist in favor of Burna Boy’s tracks.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the association condemned the incident and expressed full support for its member. It instructed DJs in Nigeria and abroad to immediately remove Burna Boy’s music from their playlists until further notice.

“The Nigerian DJ Association is fully against the discrimination of any of its members,” the statement read, urging DJs to remain vigilant, professional, and respectful in their engagements with artistes and industry stakeholders.

The group also noted that a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident would be conducted, and the temporary ban will remain in place until further updates.
