Dr. Samuel Afriyie has cautioned executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to put a stop to creating confusion for the Judiciary.
His caution was directed at Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary for the NDC who has openly condemned the Judiciary following its ruling that bars Gyakye Quayson from holding himself out as MP for Assin North.
According to Dr. Samuel Afriyie, the integrity of the Judiciary can’t be dragged in the mud like politicians have succeeded in making the executive and legislature.
“NDC’s attempt to create confusion for the Judiciary won’t work”, Dr. Afriyie said on Wontumi TV before adding that “they can’t drag the integrity of the Judiciary down to make it look like what they have down with the executive or legislature.”
The Supreme Court has restrained James Gyakye Quayson from holding himself as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency in the Central Region.
Mr. Quayson was restrained in a ruling delivered by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
But Dr. Samuel Afriyie suggested that instead of leading the chorus to condemn the court, the chief scribe for the NDC should lead his legal team to the Supreme Court for a review.
