NDC’s Attack On Wontumi Is A Ploy To Gain Upper Hand In Ashanti Region- Teiko Alleges
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Teiko, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating a witch-hunt against Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to him, the NDC’s alleged attack on Wontumi is a ploy to gain an upper hand in the region and push through their agenda without opposition.
“Attacking Wontumi will allow them to have their way in the region, but it won’t wash,” Teiko claimed.
In a passionate plea, Teiko urged all NPP members to rally behind Chairman Wontumi and ensure he is not intimidated by the alleged witch-hunt. “We must throw our weight behind Wontumi and reject any attempts to undermine his leadership,” he emphasized.
The controversy surrounding Chairman Wontumi stems from recent allegations of his involvement in illegal mining activities, which led to the revocation of the mining license of Akonta Mining Company, linked to him. However, Teiko’s comments suggest that the NPP views these allegations as a politically motivated attack rather than a genuine attempt to enforce the law.
