NDC To Amend 1992 Constitution To Give John Mahama 8years In Office After 2020- CVM President

The CVM has picked up an Intelligence Report which suggests that the National Democratic Congress(NDC) is planning to amend the 1992 Constitution so that John Mahama could have the opportunity to serve an 8-year term instead of a 4-year term in the unlikely event NDC wins the 2020 general elections.

This agenda, according to an informant, was allegedly discussed extensively at the recently held Political Committee Meeting chaired by John Mahama.

According to the informant, John Mahama allegedly put before the Political Committee that, as they are all aware, constitutionally, he can only go for a 4-year term and that, the four year mandate would not be enough for him to fully implement the BIG PUSH, Okada and Mortuary Programmes. Therefore he is relying on the NDC Parliamentary Candidates to secure majority win in Parliament so that after the swearing in ceremony they can quickly set the agenda in motion for the amendment of the 1992 Constitution which would afford him the opportunity to contest again for another 4-year term.

Majority of the members of the Political Committee in attendance were in full support with the exception of Hon. Haruna Iddrisu who strongly opposed the agenda.

However, the Political Committee of NDC through consensus also agreed to amend the Constitution of the NDC at the Party’s National Delegates Congress next year 2021.
The purpose of the Delegates Congress is to totally remove the Founder Status of J. J. Rawlings from the NDC Constitution since he is no more among the living. Instead, the names of John Mahama and Ahwoi brothers would be inserted into the Constitution of NDC to cement the full authority of these two power blocks within the NDC as well as prevent the Ewes from getting close to the top leadership of the NDC.

The greedines of John Mahama and NDC are out of control now, Ghanaians have to rise to the occasion to silence the greedines of NDC by overwhelmingly voting against John Mahama in the 7th December 2020 general elections.
