NDC Still Benefiting from NPP Policies – Mr. Ackom Claims

A member of the NPP communications team, George Ackom has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that the party cannot sustain good governance or meet the expectations of Ghanaians due to its long history of internal conflicts and public misconduct.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show with host Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Mr. Ackom challenged the NDC’s claim of promoting youth participation in politics. According to him, in 2017, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed more young people to government positions than the NDC had ever done during its time in office.

He asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has consistently supported youth involvement in governance, contrary to what he described as the NDC’s claims.

Mr. Ackom also acknowledged that some members of the NPP are dissatisfied because they did not benefit personally when the party was in power. However, he emphasized that no political party is perfect and urged members to forgive one another and unite as one family to move the party forward.

He concluded by praising the work of former President Akufo-Addo and former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that their achievements were so impactful that the NDC continues to benefit from policies implemented during their administration. According to Mr. Ackom, the NDC’s performance cannot be compared to that of the NPP.
