The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Wontumi says the opposition NDC is known for unleashing violence.

According to Chairman Wontumi, firing gunshots is a tradition in the NDC.

His comment comes in reaction to the gunshots that were fired during the NDC Ashanti Regional executives election.

Two persons sustained injuries during the commotion.

Speaking on Wontumi TV Morning Show, he recalled that the same incident happened during the contest between Joseph Yamin and Nana Akwasi in 2021.

He added that a gunshot was fired at the NDC meeting in the Ashanti Region some years ago of which one person was killed and the Chairman of the meeting Asiedu Nketiah bolted like a character in an Indian movie.

Chairman Wontumi urged the police to investigate the incident and bring the offenders to book.
