The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Yofi Grant, has reminded Ghanaians that a vote for the National Democratic Congress in the December polls stands for endorsing hardship.
In an address on the Virtual Rally event which is powered by the Hope Campaign, Yofi Grant stated that President Akufo-Addo deserves to be given a second term based on his track record in office.
In his view, unlike the government of President Akufo-Addo that has made education accessible to all, the previous NDC administration made it difficult for children of school going age to study.
“People couldn’t go to school because they couldn’t afford it”, he said in analyzing the role former President John Mahama played in Ghana’s education sector.
“All those years that we thought we had given to somebody to fix this country, they rather took it further down… we had people that were managing this economy and they had all the resources and what happened? Year by year, the economy started going down, down, down and they thought that was a joke?”
“You didn’t have enough money to supply for energy so we had dumsor. Almost five years of dumsor, lives were lost, businesses were lost, hopes were crashed, hearts were broken. Infact that story is sad”, Yofi Grant said.
He continued that under former President Mahama, Ghana’s international reputation sunk. He added that the government of President Akufo-Addo has built a solid foundation for Ghana and must be allowed to build future of the nation in the right direction.
He described President Akufo-Addo as an accomplished man who was successful in his private life as someone who established a telecom and logistics management companies.
