NDC Is Shifting Their Responsibilities to Parents – Dr. Afriyie

Dr. Afriyie, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a startling revelation about the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) strategy regarding education.

According to Dr. Afriyie, the NDC is shifting its responsibilities to parents of secondary school students, a move that could have far-reaching consequences.

Speaking on Wontumi morning show, Dr. Afriyie declared that the NDC’s plan involves passing on huge Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) dues to parents. This, he warned, could lead to students being affected at the end of their educational training if their parents refuse to pay the dues.

Dr. Afriyie raised concerns about the implications of this strategy, cautioning parents against pressuring the education minister to intervene. He emphasized that parents had agreed to these terms, and therefore, should not expect the minister to bail them out.

The NPP communicator also noted that the NDC has always been opposed to the free education policy and is now seeking to cancel the free SHS policy through educational forums. This, he argued, is a clear indication of the NDC’s intentions to undermine the progress made in the education sector.

Dr. Afriyie advised parents to direct their complaints to the President and relevant authorities, who can promptly address their concerns. He emphasized that it is essential for parents to take responsibility for their children’s education, rather than relying on the government to solve all their problems.
