Abronye has likened the call by the NDC to demonstrate against the EC over the voter register to attending a funeral where there is no dead person.
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed calls by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Electoral Commission of Ghana to allow a private firm to audit the voters’ register ahead of the 2024 general election.
Chairman Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye in an address to the press stated that because the NDC benefitted from illegal transfer of voters under former EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei, they are assuming the NPP would also do same.
“The NDC is crying for wolf where there is no wolf. The NDC is inviting Ghanaians to attend a funeral where there is no dead person”, he said.
He touted the credentials of the NPP when it comes to electoral reforms by noting that “all the electoral reforms in the 4th republic” were the brainchild of the NPP.
He added that the above reason is testament that the NPP supports a credible voters’ register.
