NDC, Gov’t Of ‘Akonfem’, Unequal Opportunity – Bawumia
Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to provide examples of their equal opportunity policies during their eight-year term.
Speaking at a durbar at Kpong, in the Lower Manya Krobo constituency in the Eastern Region, Dr Bawumia underscored that President Akufo-Addo’s administration has demonstrated that it is a government of equal opportunities.
He said the NPP is the government of the masses and all Ghanaians.
“We have provided equal opportunities for all Ghanaians through our economic policies and social interventions programmes such as one constituency one ambulance, one district one factory, one constituency one million dollars, Zongo Development Fund, NABCO, Planting for Food and Jobs, Free SHS, digitisation, allowances to teacher and nursing trainees…” Dr Bawumia said.
He continued: “Former President Mahama says he wants to come back to build a country of equal opportunities. I want to ask him what he did for eight years when he was in government as president and vice president?
“Where were the equal opportunities they built for Ghanaians?”
Dr Bawumia mocked that the “NDC is the government of Akofem and of unequal opportunity, they are the government of Akonfem. They cannot tell you not what equal opportunity they have given to our youth.
“Unemployment is not equal opportunity, dumsor is not equal opportunity, cancellation of teacher training allowance is not equal opportunity, SADA akonfem is not equal opportunity, cancellation of nursing training allowance is not equal opportunity.
“We are the party of the masses, the party of the people, the party of equal opportunities, the party of all Ghanaians.”
Dr Bawumia, thus, urged voters to give President Akufo-Addo and NPP parliamentarians four more years to continue with and consolidate the transformation agenda that we have started.
