Bodyguards affiliated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were hired to provide protection services for Captain Smart as he visited Obuasi to deliberately stoke fire between AngloGold Ashanti and small scale miners in the area.
Mr. Bright Nyampo accused the journalist of acting on the orders of the NDC to generate tension using the Onua FM platform in a peaceful town like Obuasi.
“There is peace at Obuasi but he wants to create tension there between the small scale miners and Anglo Gold Ashanti. The minister has met miners and Security Council and there is peace in the area. The place is a peaceful area so you don’t come there to stoke fire to a problem that is being resolved”, Bright Nyampo said on the Wontumi Morning Show.
Captain Smart was labeled an “irresponsible” journalist by, Bright Nyampo an indigene of Obuasi.
Mr. Bright Nyampo lashed out Captain Smart for invading the municipality of Obuasi without requesting permit to hold his shambolic People’s Forum program.
“After the incident, the NDC members served as bodyguard for Onua TV and Captain Smart for them to shamefully carry on with the show”, he pointed out.
