A former deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, is predicting that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would be weaker due to the internal bickering that has taken center stage in the party currently.

Several unpleasant reports and comments popped shortly after the NDC held their National Youth and Women’s Congress.

In an interview on Wontumi, Nana Obiri Boahen noted that Mr. Mahama’s preferred candidate Margaret Ansei lost to Dr. Hanna Bissiw in the National Women’s Organiser election.

Ernest Yaw Brogya Genfi, another candidate backed by Mr. Mahama lost to George Opare Addo in the National Youth Organiser and Nana Obiri Boahen, believes it demonstrates that the former President doesn’t have any influence in his own party again.

In the wake of the outcome of the elections, supporters of Pablo as well as himself believed that Brogya Genfi was supported by Sammy Gyamfi and other bigwigs in the NDC; including close associates of former President, John Dramani Mahama.

This has subsequently created a feud between Sammy Gyamfi and Pablo and his allies.

Reacting to it, Nana Obiri Boahen stated that he foresees the NDC growing weaker after the incident.
