National Service Secretariat Engages Stakeholders On How To Prepare Final Year Posting List.

 

As part of pragmatic efforts to get clean list devoid of ghost names in the final year list submitted to National Service for posting from the accredited institutions, the National Service Secretariat (NSS) has organized a training program for representatives from accredited universities in Ashanti and Bono Ahafo regions.

The training program held in Kumasi was witnessed by leaders (facilitators) from headquarters included Mr Abraham Gaisie, Head of Deployment, NSS, Benjamin Kusi, Assistant Head of Department and Wilson Adjiri facilitator as well as the Bono Ahafo regional Director, Mr Kankam Boadu.

This training program also forms part of efforts by the Executive Director of NSS, Hon Osei Assibey Antwi to get rid of Ghost names from the system of National Service to protect the public purse.

The training program was meant for Representatives from the accredited universities who have been tasked to deal with final year list for onward submission to the National Service Secretariat for posting.

The training program which was under the supervision of Ashanti regional Director for National Service, Mr Alexander Opoku Mensah in a brief interview with the media explained the motive behind the engagement.

According to Mr Opoku Mensah aka “Omens” stated that, every year fraudsters manage to add unknown personnel to the list of final year list submitted to them by the various institutions for postings hence the need for this training program to get rid of ghost names from the pay roll of the Secretariat.

Mr Opoku Mensah again mentioned that, with the new system introduced by the secretariat, they are going to generate codes for only the personnel assigned to deal with final year list in the various institutions.

He was of the view that with this initiative ghost names will be a thing of the past and should any unfortunate thing happen those in charge will be held accountable.

Mr Opoku Mensah further added that, the personnel from the various secretariat are also undergoing same training program to deal with issues about the final list in order to ease tension from the national secretariat.

The Ashanti Regional Director assured that with this initiative by the management the upcoming postings will be smooth and transparent devoid of ghost names.
