Nana Kwame Ampadu Justifies Open Campaign For Nana Addo : “He Deserves The Vote Of Every Ghanaian”
Veteran Ghanaian highlife Musician, Nana Kwame Ampadu, who has to his credit, 700 musical compositions, has made an open declaration to support Nana Addo Dankwa’s second attempt to be elected the President of the Republic.
Nana Ampadu who has composed a special commemorative song for Nana Addo to aid his campaign programme was speaking on Wontumi TV/Radio in a special interview programme hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu.
The celebrated musician who is regarded as a legend claimed he had for a long time been a close friend of the President.
“I even prophesized on Nana Addo becoming a President before the 2012 elections and I can guarantee his election victory come December 7.
The ageless musician famed for composing some of the most evergreen highlife hits in the country lauded Nana Addo for his numerous achievements.
“I marvel when I reflect on how he has been able to generate all the funds to support his social intervention programmes especially, the free SHS”
According to him Nana Addo has indeed proved to all Ghanaians that Ghana is not a deprived country given the huge expenditure made in the implementation of all the major government’s projects.
“Left to me alone attempts should be made to change the Constitution to extend the tenure of Nana Addo after his second term so he can have a longer period to lead the country.” He said.
Nana Ampadu defended his composition of a campaign song for Nana Addo.
“Composing a song for Nana Addo was done out of a my appreciation of his good works. The composition came naturally and it is in acknowledgement of his achievements so nobody should read partisan political meaning into my motive.” He said.
He further stated that he is not alone in the efforts to campaign for Nana Addo to win the2020 elections.
“I know of Dada K.D., and Kweku Appiah among a host of others who are all keen at ensuring Nana Addo wins the election.
Nana Ampadu who is hopeful that the elections will be very peaceful predicted that Nana Addo will set a record that will place him far ahead of his closest opponent.
“Nana Addo will set a record in the accumulation of aggregate votes that will be unprecedented in the annals of Ghana’s political history since the commencement of the fourth republic.”
He called on the political parties not to hide behind the elections to create divisions among Ghanaians.
”We are one people and politics should not divide us. The election is a mere exercise which should be used as a vehicle to unite all of as one people. I’m appealing to all Ghanaian voters to vote for Nana Addo for him to continue his good works.
According to Nana Ampadu , “ the outcome of every elections is to bring about development and voting for Nana Addo will be a step in the right direction because of what he is capable of doing.”
“My prayer is that God should open the eyes of every Ghanaian voter to vote for Nana Addo and all the 275 Parliamentary candidates contesting on the ticket of the NPP.” He noted.
