NALAG President Cautions NPP Over Blames On Lost Of Parliamentary Seats

The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana ( NALAG), Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkoom, has cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop blaming the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives on the lost of Parliamentary seats in the 7th December, 2020 polls.

He said that, the party should probe the defeat on lost of the more Parliamentary seats and stop the blame game.

In an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio /TV Morning Show in Kumasi, he said, if the NPP blame the MMDCEs they cannot identify the cause of the lost of the seats.

“We have some MMDCEs who were also Parliamentary candidates and lost, so who are those persons who campaigned against them?” He questioned.

According to him, one factor that led to the lost of the Parliamentary seat in his area was bad road network.

The NALAG President noted that, there are many reasons that led to the lost of the Parliamentary seats so the NPP should fetch them out.

Hon. Baisie Nkoom emphasized that the party has learnt lessons from the December 7, 2020 elections. Background

The NPP in the 2016 general elections secured 169 Parliamentary seats with a clear majority in Parliament.

But in the 2020 general elections, the party’s Parliamentary seats declined to 137.
