Myself, Wontumi Owes No Stores – Ashanti Regional Minister Dispels Rumours
Ashanti Regional Minister- Designate, Hon Simon Osei Mensah has dispelled rumours that he and the Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi own no store at the Kejetia- Central Market.
He dared that, should anyone provide documents to that effect, he will tender his resignation letter to President Akufo-Addo as the Ashanti Regional Minister Designate.
According to Hon. Simon Osei Mensah who was speaking in an interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show, those who shared the stores can testify to his statement.
The Ashanti Regional Minister Designate appealed to the traders in the market to pave way for the construction of the second phase of the Kejetia- Central Market redevelopment project else it will create plight for them and the city.
He stressed that, the construction of the market is for the development of Asanteman but not somebody’s parochial interest.
According to Hon. Osei Mensah, the contractor did not provide space for lorry terminal in the first phase of the market project.
He said that, there would be a provision in the second phase to reduce congestions in the market.
“There was not enough space provided for traditional trading in the first phase. A whole floor would be used for traditional trading in the second phase.” Hon Osei Mensah said
