MTN Undertakes Media Tour At Wontumi Media And Others In Ashanti

As part of deepening its relationship and collaboration with the media in the Ashanti Region, MTN Ghana last week commenced its annual media tours to some outfits within the Kumasi Metropolis.

Corporate Affairs Manager of MTN Northern Business District, Mrs Charity Darko begun the tours by first visiting the news editors of Angel FM, an affiliate of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN).

This was followed up by a visit to Ultimate fm, an affiliate of the EIB group.

Ending the first day tour, Mrs Darko also visited Ashh FM  an affiliate of Kencity Media and Asaase Radio.

On the second day tour, the Corporate Affairs Manager visited news editors of Hello FM as well as the GM, Mr Sampson K Nyamekye.

News editors of Boss fm, Wofa Kofi Appiah, Kessben Media, Adwoa Kyerewaah and Charles Anaqwa of Wontumi Media as well as William Evans-Nkum of Tv3 also played host to Mrs Darko on the second day.

COMMENDATION:
Speaking during the visits, Mrs Darko commended the media outfits for their support to MTN.

She noted that the media space and airtime they offer almost at regular intervals have been beneficial to the outfit because it has been using same to carry out educative and information sharing ventures.

The Manager called for regular feedback from the editors concerning the operations of MTN.

This, she noted was crucial so that her outfit could work on same and collectively help to educate the public in a timely fashion.

RESPONSE:
Mr Appau Arhin, news editor at Angel fm welcomed the gesture by MTN and proposed that company sponsors some initiatives from the newsrooms such as Choral contests and quizzes.

Julius Caesar Anadem, News editor at Ultimate Fm commended MTN for the visit and called for more of such so as to deepen the relationship they share.

Mr Kenneth Obeng, news editor at Hello fm said he was happy about the proactive attitude by MTN in the ongoing sim registration exercise.

He noted that the earlier long queues had suddenly been reduced, adding that the community to community and institutional activations as introduced by MTN has really helped.
