Movement for Change Accuses NPP Of Scuttling Their Walk In Kumasi

Organizers of the failed Campaign Walk embarked upon by the Movement for Change in Kumasi are blaming the ruling New Patriotic Party for the poor attendance recorded on Saturday morning.

According to them, some personalities within the ruling party thwarted their plans, which included bussing fans from far and beyond to the city to participate in the walk.

They mentioned the Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore and Campaign Coordinator for the Middle-Belt Regions, Hon. Dr. Ayew Afriyeh and the Aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Andy Owusu, as being directly responsible for the abortive walk.

According to the MFC Organisers, they had taken months and weeks to plan the walk, which was expected to shake the stronghold of the ruling party and also manifest the influence of Mr. Alan Kyerematen.

However, the NPP, feeling jittery about how such massive crowd could dampen the spirit of their support base, connived with some individuals to put impediments on the way of participants.

“Look at how we struggled to even get the Metro Mass Buses to convey our people from the various destinations meanwhile we paid them for everything ” One of the Organisers anonymously told this reporter.

Meanwhile, the organizers have vowed to expose the NPP for that wicked plot against them.
