More Voters Yet To Cast Their Votes In Some Centres In Kumasi

An alarm has been sounded about Voter turn out in some polling stations in Kumasi as captured by our roving correspondents.

“ So far turnout appears to be low even though, the day is still young..” Our roving correspondent, Adwoa Nelson Aweh reported.

A typical example of the seeming poor participation in the exercise is Kwadaso and its environs, Our correspondent who visited some of the centres in the area reported that as at 10.30 or thereabout, 30% of the total number of voters were yet to go to the polls.

“However, in certain areas long queues were seen at the centres thus, giving hope that with more than six hours left for the exercise to be over, there is still can be a hike in participation, typical of the Ghanaian traditionally known to be a later.

Our correspondent was at Odeneho Kwadaso, Kwadaso main township, Asuoyeboa and the Nyankyireniase suburbs.

“The situation of the ground doesn’t give ample room for one to conclude that be people the voter apathy syndrome has set in but more voters are yet to come out to vote looking at the current situation.” She remarked.

Meanwhile, so far no major case of dispute or violence has been reported neither the malfunctioning of any of the devices used in the exercise, unlike the previous years.
