Jockey (DJ), Kwaku Slim, has shared his perspective on Pastor Mensah Otabil’s advice for men to marry early.

Pastor Otabil, the founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), recently asserted that men should not wait for financial stability before getting married.

While DJ Slim acknowledges the validity of Pastor Otabil’s advice, he believes that in today’s world, money plays a crucial role in marriage and its sustainability.

He pointed out that modern marriage ceremonies require significant financial investment to meet contemporary standards, making strong financial support essential.

“Pastor Otabil said we should be bold and marry, yet the marriage ceremony itself has now become a multi-billion-dollar business because money stops all nonsense. He also mentioned that when he got married, they were using broken benches in their room.

“What he has to understand is that during their time, they did not see what was happening in real time. The institution called marriage hinges on the success of a man,” he said in a video shared on his X page on August 22, 2024.

In his recent sermon, Pastor Otabil challenged the notion that financial stability is a prerequisite for marriage.

He shared his own experience of marrying without riches and building an empire with his wife from scratch.

Opinions on Pastor Otabil’s comments are divided, with some supporting his view and others arguing that times have changed, making his assertion less applicable.
