MMDCEs Petition NPP To Amend Constitution; Grant Them Rights To Be Part Of Decision Making

The Ashanti Regional Metropolitan, Municipal, District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) have proposed amendments to the Constitution of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to be part of decision making.

According to the MMDCEs Article 10 (2) (3) mandates National Annual Delegates Conference to be attended by several groups including MMDCEs with voting rights.

The Dean of the Regional MMDCEs, Hon. Alexander Frimpong speaking on Wontumi Radio Morning Show said, when it comes to the Regional Delegates Conference the MMDCES cannot attend as delegates as in Article 9(25) of the NPP constitution.

According to Hon. Alexander Frimpong, the MMDCES have petitioned NPP General Secretary through the party Regional Chairman to amend the Constitution to be added to the list of persons who can attend the constituency and Regional annual delegates conferences with voting rights.

He emphasized that the MMDCEs are also part of the major stakeholders of the NPP.
