The communications director for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, who also doubles as a presidential staffer, Dennis Miracle says, it is wrong for former president, John Dramani Mahama to express astonishment over his own actions.
According to him, John Dramani Mahama introduced 90% of the taxes imposed on imported goods.
This follows the recent comment made by John Mahama when he met the Ghana Union of Traders association (GUTA).
Mahama said he was shocked at the levies on imported goods at the port.
In a rebuttal in an interview on Wontumi TV, on 12th April, 2024, he emphatically stated that, the taxes were introduced by the former president before he ended his tenure of office.
“Mahama didn’t even know of the things that happened in his administration. 90 per cent of the taxes he listed were introduced by him so if he is shocked, it was his own actions. He is completely clueless” he stressed.
In addition, he was optimistic that, this statement will not meddle in the New Patriotic Party’s electoral fortune on December 7.
