Minority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, has lodged a complaint with the Speaker of Parliament over National Security’s blatant disregard for the Speaker’s directive on investigative engagement with MPs.
This comes after operatives from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and National Security attempted to arrest Assin North MP Rev. Ntim Fordjour at his residence.
In a memo to the Speaker, Hon. Dompreh expressed his outrage, stating that the arrest attempt was made despite the Speaker’s clear directives, which are enshrined in the constitution to protect Parliament’s mandate. He emphasized that such actions undermine the Speaker’s authority and violate MPs’ privileges and immunities, posing a serious threat to the separation of powers and respect for elected representatives.
