Martin Amidu has failed Ghana and himself following his decision to resign from office as Special Prosecutor, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has underscored.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, in an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show noted that Martin Amidu was quick to tender in his resignation letter because he felt President Akufo-Addo might one day tell him to proceed on leave due to failure to tackle and properly address corruption related cases brought before him.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi explained that he once had a meeting with Martin Amidu and realized that he was a “confused man” handling the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
“I once had a meeting with him and told him that his inability to use funds provided to him by the state to fight corruption was affecting Ghana and his personality. Because he failed, he assumed he was going to be asked to proceed on leave hence his decision to resign”, Chairman Wontumi revealed.
He added that he is surprised Martin Amidu failed to do much on the Opuni and COCOBOD issue when he has been given all the information he requires to get justice served.
“We all know about the Opuni and BOST issue but he never did anything about it…He was not fit for the job and it is good he has quit. He couldn’t do the job”, Chairman Wontumi added.
