Mama Pat Donates Desks, Office Furniture To Schools In Asokwa.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa Constituency, Hon Patricia Appiagyei on Thursday afternoon donated a total of 264 tables, chairs as well as office and library furniture to schools in the Asokwa Municipality.
In a brief presentation ceremony at the precincts of the Asokwa Municipal Education Directorate, the three time MP said government was committed to investing resources into education.
This, she noted, was reason she periodically lobbies and purchases such items that would enhance education in her constituency.
She asked the public to guard their hearts from the propaganda by naysayers that the educational system in the country was in tatters.
“This government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is committed to continually investing into education and this is the reason as MP and member of the NPP I take particular interest in periodically providing resources through the Education directorate to enhance teaching and learning in Asokwa schools”, Mama Pat passionately stressed.
MUNICIPAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR:
Reverend Ebenezer Oteng Marfo, Asokwa Municipal Director of Education giving details of the gesture said the items donated by the MP consisted of 50 pieces of tables, 180 chairs and desks, 30 library chairs and desks and 4 shelves.
These items he noted was going to all schools in Asokwa as well as the Education Directorate.
Beneficiary schools, he mentioned were St Mary’s Basic School, Dompoase MA Primary and JHS, New Bethel Basic, New Asafo Primary and JHS, Ahinsan JHS, Atonsu MA and Gyinyase MA JHS.
Rev Marfo commended the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive for Asokwa for particularly taking interest in the functional aspects of education in the Municipality and constantly providing for the needs at same.

On his part, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah, Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive charged the education directorate to monitor the usage of the items provided to the schools.
He noted that the proper usage and maintenance of the items would ensure they last long for the purpose it was given out.
The MCE charged heads of schools present at the handing-over ceremony to keep an eye on the items so that it serves the interest of the schools as well as aid in teaching and learning at same.
Chief Akwannuasah thanked the Asokwa MP for the gesture and said her lobbying skills was legendary.
