Chairman Wontumi has described the leadership records of Mr. John Mahama as “low cost and synthetic”.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has stated that Ghanaians appreciate and respect the leadership of President Akufo-Addo than his predecessor.
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi spoke to Wontumionline shortly after former President John Mahama described President Akufo-Addo as a poor leader.
Speaking at the 40th anniversary commemorating the 31st December Revolution, the 2020 Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) noted that the President’s blame game whenever initiatives backfire portrays poor leadership skills.
“Leadership is about responsibility. It is only a poor leader who shirks responsibilities and shifts blame. We had power crisis– dumsor in this country– because of lack of investment in generation for many years, and so we were consuming more power than we generated.
But according to Chairman Wontumi, John Mahama’s leadership was “low cost and synthetic” compared to the genuine leadership President Akufo-Addo has shown ever since he assumed office.
Chairman Wontumi recounted that the leadership of Mr. Mahama birthed ‘dumsor’ and created room for thievery to thrive in his government.
“John Mahama created ‘dumsor’ and was unable to solve the problem. The ‘dumsor’ problem collapsed several businesses and poverty increased in the country. Together with his appointees, they were also corrupt.
He admitted to the media that he took a ford car as gift before he gave a contract to a contractor. His minsters were also engaging in bus branding and cheating the ordinary Ghanaian”, Chairman Wontumi said.
