Mahama You Can’t Intimidate Me- Chairman Wontumi As 20 NIB Officials Ransack His Residence
Over 20 officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have ransacked the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Chairman Wontumi, the officials claimed to be conducting a search, but he resisted their attempts, citing the lack of a search warrant.
Chairman Wontumi revealed that he had earlier received an invitation letter from the CID Boss, DCOP Lydia Donkor, and had acknowledged receipt, indicating that he would report on Monday. However, he was surprised when a different group of NIB officials showed up at his residence.
“I called the number provided on the police invitation letter to ask if they were responsible for the NIB officials ransacking my house,” Chairman Wontumi said. “The person I spoke to, Isaac Offei, claimed that the police knew nothing about it. So, what at all is happening? What wrong or crime have I committed?” He said on Wontumi TV.
Chairman Wontumi expressed frustration and harassment, citing past experiences, including when his job was collapsed in 2013 when the NDC came into power. He also mentioned that his account had been frozen, making it difficult for him to pay his children’s school fees and feed his family.
“Nelson Mandela was in prison, but he came out to be President. Kwame Nkrumah was in prison, but he was voted to become President. Regardless of the torment and harassment, I’ll still become the National Chairman,” he declared. ”
”It’s my quest to become the next national chairman that’s the reason for which they want to make my life miserable. I was never a government appointee, I was never a board member nor minister. So, what at all is this?” Chairman Wontumi said.
