The Member of Parliament for Suame constituency, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has emphatically stated that if a Presidential debate is held between flagbearers of the two major political parties, with focus on the management of the economy, John Dramani Mahama will not show up for such a debate.
According to the former Majority leader, this is because John Mahama cannot match Dr. Bawumia’s economic expertise.
“if the debate focuses solely on economic management, John Mahama will undoubtedly avoid it, as he cannot match Dr. Bawumia’s economic expertise. While John Mahama is my friend, I must acknowledge the reality of the situation”, he said in an interview monitored by movementtvonline.
He further that the enstoolment of the Gonja King showcased Dr. Bawumia’s immense popularity, with a significantly larger crowd following him compared to John Mahama, a Gonja himself.
“This highlights the dynamic nature of politics. If Dr. Bawumia becomes President, the Northerners will rally behind him with unprecedented momentum. While the Ashanti, Eastern, Bono, and Ahafo regions may take things granted, the north will stand firmly behind Dr. Bawumia”, he added.
