The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, has cautioned voters to vote against Mr. John Mahama who according to him is seeking political power to destroy businesses.
His comments comes on the back of a statement by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress that the establishment of car assembly plants in Ghana, is bad for local industry.
According to Mr. Mahama “it is unacceptable that the employment of hundreds of thousands of people in the local automotive industry is threatened simply because government is encouraging the establishment of a car assembly plant which will not employ more than one hundred people.”
But reacting to the statement on Nsempa Fie, a show which airs on Wontumi TV, Kwame Baffoe Abronye rubbished the claims and noted that the companies were rather in Ghana to create employment opportunities for “our people”.
“I went there to inspect the operation of VW and I was amazed…John Mahama only wants to come to power and destroy the businesses opening in Ghana”, he warned.
He went further to describe Mr. John Mahama as a “Sakawa man who can never be trusted”.
Abronye also questioned Mr. John Mahama’s contribution to Ghana’s automobile industry and inquired if he had even purchased anything from Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s Kantanka car collection.
“You never bought cars from Apostle Kwadwo Safo…But today, the Finance minister has bought some cars from Kantanka, the Trade minister too has done same”, Abronye said.
