The Bono East regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), David Boakye has stung former President Mahama for playing ‘chacha’ to wit gambling with the electoral fortunes of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Mr. David Boakye, Mr. Mahama’s mentality towards leading the NDC proves that he careless about whether the NDC becomes a formidable political party or not.
“At the end of each month he still receives his salary so whether or not he becomes President, he doesn’t care because he gets paid”, David Boakye said on the Wontumi Morning Show.
He reacted to claims by the former President that he would scrap the payment of ex-gratia if given another chance to rule Ghana.
David Boakye posited that if Mr. Mahama is serious about the claim, he should immediately inform the current government to stop paying his staff and spouse their monthly salary.
He also added that “he should return the three vehicles he collected from government during the covid times” to prove he is serious about scrapping ex-gratia.
“Currently he (Mahama) takes more salary than the sitting President”, David Boakye said to highlight the need for Ghanaians not to take the former President serious when he makes promises.
