Mahama, NDC Tried Collapsing Data Bank- MP Reveals

I Have Told Kennedy Agyapong To Lobby For Running Mate Position- Chairman Wontumi
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong

There were various attempts by the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama government to deliberately collapse Data Bank, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has revealed.

The legislator, who spoke on Wontumi TV last Saturday, emphatically stated that former President Mahama and some key members of the National Democratic Congress were not happy about the progress of Data Bank and made several attempts to destroy it.

NDC tried collapsing Data Bank. I am challenging them to come out and state if Data Bank under them had any liquidity challenge. I want the former Bank of Ghana Governor under Mahama to come and challenge me and mention to us if the NDC ever helped Data Bank”, the Assin Central MP said in the interview which was monitored by Wontumionline.com.

He commended current Finance Minister and owner of Data Bank, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, for running his bank well and withstanding the unnecessary pressure John Mahama’s government mounted on him.

If Ken Ofori-Atta had made a small mistake, NDC would have collapsed his bank and so he was prudent with managing his bank”, he said.
