Host of Wontumi Morning Show, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, has expressed concerns about former President Mahama’s potential plans to amend the constitution and extend his presidential term beyond 2028.
According to Asiedu, Mahama’s actions are driven by a desire for power. “Mahama is drunk with Power”.
He claimed that prior to the 2024 elections, he had warned that Mahama would likely attempt to amend the constitution to remain in power. He believes that Mahama’s intentions are evident in his alleged sponsorship of individuals seeking the removal of the Chief Justice. Oheneba fears that if successful, this move could pave the way for Mahama to manipulate the judicial system and achieve his goals.
Asiedu emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue, warning that the youth will be the ones to suffer if chaos erupts. He stressed that this is a serious matter that requires immediate attention, urging citizens to be vigilant and proactive in protecting Ghana’s democracy.
“The youth of this country need to wake up and take notice of what’s happening. If we allow this to happen, we’ll be the ones to suffer the consequences. We need to stand up and demand that our leaders respect the constitution and the rule of law,” Asiedu cautioned.
