A former Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Yaw Adomako Baafi, has challenged former President John Mahama and his wife to emulate President Akufo-Addo by giving part of their monthly salaries to the state to use for development.
The NPP Communicator in an interview on Wontumi TV’s Talk Ghana Show, stated that ever since President Akufo-Addo took the bold decision to sacrifice 30% of his salary and that of his appointees it has shown that he has the nation at heart.
The move is part of the measures introduced by the Akufo-Addo led government to deal with the economic problems facing Ghana currently.
It is on the heels of this that Mr. Yaw Adomako Baafi challenged Mr. Mahama , his wife and his backroom staffs to follow suite.
According to Mr. Baafi, nothing has been heard from Mr. Mahama on whether he is willing to support the nation just like President Akufo-Addo is doing.
“Felix Ofosu Kwakye takes close to 200 million old Ghana cedis as monthly salary and it is the same as Joyce Bawa. They turned around to rather lie about Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia about the allowance they take and to shame them, the two women returned allowance but till date, Lordina Mahama hasn’t returned hers but spends it on her travels to Dubai”.
He continued that if Mr. Mahama’s wife isn’t ready to reach out to help, “then as a man, Mahama must emulate the actions of President Akufo-Addo and the members of the Council of State.”
