A former deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has observed that despite the riches that sit in the bank account of former President John Mahama, his influence in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has faded.
His observation was influenced by the outcome of the recently held NDC national executives’ elections where candidates who were backed by the former President lost miserably.
In an interview on Wontumi, Nana Obiri Boahen noted that Mr. Mahama’s preferred candidate Margaret Ansei lost to Dr. Hanna Bissiw in the National Women’s Organiser election.
Ernest Yaw Brogya Genfi, another candidate backed by Mr. Mahama lost to George Opare Addo in the National Youth Organiser and Nana Obiri Boahen, believes it demonstrates that the former President doesn’t have any influence in his own party again.
“It is informing Mahama that you have money and properties but you don’t have control in the NDC”, Nana Obiri Boahen said.
