- Running a lean government should come with lean budget, but in the case of President Mahama’s government, his budgetary allocation is huge.
Heads of government communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Shamima Muslim would be given GHC 78, 000,000 by President Mahama to spend, former Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed.
Comparing their work and budget to what he did and received when he served in the same capacity under government of former President Akufo-Addo, he stated that he received less.
“The whole year I was given GHC 8 million to run my ministry, it was even an allocation” before adding that President Mahama has given Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Shamima Muslim GHC78 million to spend.
In an interview on Movement TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Hon. Nkrumah stated described the government of President Mahama as a “scam” by explaining that he is perplexed by the bloated size of budget they are using to run a self-acclaimed lean government.
The Member of Parliament for Ofoase/Ayirebi constituency continued that it is only in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government that “reduces ministries, reduces appointees but has very huge budget”.
