Mari_Gyata’s video post, which has since garnered over 3,217 likes and 72 comments, sighted Maame Ode in a neatly designed traditional Kente corset outfit dancing to the popular V.I.P song ‘Ahomka Wo Mu’.
The controversies surrounding the post was the caption given by the blogger which reads, “Maame Ode anaa (smiling emoji) the corset is corseting.”
The mockery caption has generated intensive trolls by a section of her followers as some resorted to body shaming the elderly woman under the post.
They said: “Nsem wo Oman mu paa (the country has a lot of troubles) is it by force to wear a corset Wei dier (this one) the seamstress needs to be queried because you could at least shorten the length of the corset at the back and the beads hanging like masquerade no ye dien (what is this).”
“The back of the corset is like a roofing sheet. She can’t afford to suffocate herself cus (because) of her flat tummy so they have to choose her way off the corset for her (laughing emoji).”
These comments infuriated the veteran dirge singer to call out the blogger as a matter of urgency to delete the video post.
“Please don’t post me again,” she simply replied under the post. As of the time of filing the story, the post has still not been deleted.
Known for her popular hit song ‘Apuutor’, Maame Ode is said to be the originator of ‘Nnwonkoro’.
She gained prominence not for only her innuendo-inspired songs but for being a professional mourner, one paid to cry at funeral grounds.
