Life Sentence For Man Convicted Of Murdering German Girlfriend And Daughter

Boigouna Aloys, a Burkinabe national, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a High Court in Accra for murdering his German girlfriend and her 13-year-old daughter at Kokrobite.

The 47-year-old accused was found guilty by a seven-member jury after a trial in which the prosecution, led by Yvonne Yaache-Adomako, presented evidence from five witnesses.

Aloys was charged with two counts of murder.

The Burkinabe national was arrested by the police on October 8, 2020, after he secretly murdered and buried his 53-year-old girlfriend, Claudia Weizmann, and her 13-year-old daughter in a bushy area near their residence.

Neighbours reported the disappearance of Aloys and the two deceased individuals to the police in Kokrobite, leading to the discovery of their bodies.

The police obtained an exhumation order and conducted an autopsy before commencing investigations.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the convict had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend, which led him to use a hammer to smash her head.

He then strangled her 13-year-old daughter to prevent her from reporting the incident to the police and subsequently buried both bodies.
