Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs competent party members who have the ability to literally help the NPP to cross the Jordan river in the 2024 elections to be elected at the party’s National Delegates Conference.
According to him, Ghana needs to make a steady progress in its advancement to get out of poverty and this will require elected national executive members who are committed to making Ghana a proud nation because of its achievements.
Dr Adutwum who speaking in an interview on Movement TV in Accra on Saturday said the NPP has an agenda to develop the country in a rapid manner and needs those who share that vision to be elected to occupy top positions.
The Education Minister also made a special reference the to Government’s decision to pay 15% teachers’esalariesary as COLA and noted that with the hullabaloo now over teachers are expected to give off their best.
“Government has listened to their grievances and done what will pacify them. What’s now left is for teachers to quickly go back to the classroom and try to redeem what the pupils have lost so things can return to normal in the shortest possible time.”
Dr Adutwum who is the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti Region was unhappy about the long period that pupils in the basic schools had to stay at home due to the strike action at the expense of their education and hoped that such retrogressive tendencies would be avoided in future.
