Latest On Nigerian Businessman Arrested For Blocking Apartment Entrance [Listen]

The Nigerian businessman, Ben Peters who was arrested at the Aurora Apartments in Kanda, near the Jubilee House for blocking the main entrance has been granted bail.

The Deputy Director of Operations at the Jubilee House, Mustapha Gbande confirmed the bail in an interview on Adom FM Dwaso Nsem.

Mr. Peters was arrested in a Police operation on Monday after his action left several occupants stranded.

Mr. Gbande revealed that he was taken into custody with his statement taken.

He said the team had to call for reinforcements after Peters allegedly threatened to shoot anyone who approached.

Security forces eventually overpowered the armed men, entered the apartment, and arrested Peters.

“As it stands, he is a suspect for roadblock and many other offences that would have taken place and the cause of that unlawful conduct. The Police are looking into that,” he said.

He noted about 20 of Mr. Peters’ men are currently in custody although others absconded.

However, he expressed confidence that the number of people arrested so far are enough to build a case.

“How can one person have more than 10 bodyguards? If it is a security set up does he have the licence? So the Police will investigate and deal with all those involved,” he stated.
