Last year, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by Mr. John Mahama targeted the security service and run it down; this year, they have shifted their focus on the judicial service and denigrated the institution forming part of their modus operandi to blame them when they lose the 2024 elections.
Mr. Ralph Osei Wusu, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s communication team, stated on Wontumi TV that the attacks are deliberate and designed for the NDC to follow.
On Sunday August 28, 2022, Mr. John Mahama interacted with some lawyers at the 2nd Annual Lawyers Conference of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Surprisingly, he used the ceremony to run down the judicial service and its head, Chief Justice Anin-Yeboah.
Responding to the attack, Mr. Osei Wusu indicated that “last year he (John Mahama) started with the security services and said the NDC doesn’t believe in them. He gave numerous unnecessary examples. It is a strategy but he should know that under our constitution no government can sack judges unless that fellow has committed a certain crime.”
He therefore advised the NDC that in their quest to seek political power, they should be mindful of the things they try to orchestrate.
