LaLiga: Lamine Yamal equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s title record

Seventeen-year old Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal has matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s La Liga title haul.

Yamal netted once and provided an assist as he led Hansi Flick’s side to La Liga’s title on Thursday evening.

It was Barcelona’s 28th league title which came after a 2-0 win over city rivals, Espanyol, capping a historic domestic treble.

Yamal would have also hoped to win the UEFA Champions League league title this season but that dream could not materialise following Barça’s semifinal exit.

Yamal’s display so far this season has now made him a leading contender for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

Yamal’s second La Liga title with Barcelona, equaling Ronaldo, who won just that number in his entire stay at Real Madrid.

However, the Portuguese’ few numbers in two La Ligas’ show the level of Barcelona during that decade.

The former Manchester United attacker lost out on the league title six times to Barcelona while Atletico Madrid beat him to it once.

At 17, Spain International, Yamal has already had a spectacular career, marching the Real Madrid legend’s LaLiga title haul.

The youngster is also the first ever player to win two La Liga titles before turning 18.

In the former Barça youth team star already has the 2 La Liga titles, European championship trophy, Spanish Super Cup, Copa Del Rey, Best Young Player EURO 2024, Kopa Trophy 2024, in his trophy cabinet.

Hansi Flick led Barcelona to a domestic treble and it their 9th ‘Domestic Double’.
