Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie Served NPP, Ghana Well – Chairman Freddie Blay

The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Freddie Worsemao Armah Blay has described the late Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (popularly known as Sir John), as someone who dedicated himself to serve the NPP and Mother Ghana to the admiration of everyone.

According to him, the late Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie was a very nice person and was liked by many Ghanaians.

He disclosed this in an interview with Wontumi TV/Radio to express his personal feelings about the untimely demise of Sir John.

Chairman Blay said, he has known Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie long before politics and was full of wisdom and knows how to talk adding that, he always stand on his feet when he decided to do something.

‘The NPP has lost a big asset who would always be remembered, ‘he indicated.

Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriye at the Forestry Commission, gave a lot of employment opportunities to many Ghanaians.

He averred that, Sir John when alive had good relationship not only with the NPP but across the political divide, especially the NDC who are his opponents.

Mr. Blay further revealed that, one of the attributes of Sir John was that, he was selfless and always feel for ordinary Ghanaian who is suffering.

Sir John he stated, would not mind to share the little that he had on him with anyone who go to him for support.

Chairman Freddie Blay disclosed that, the late Kwadwo Afriyie when he (Mr. Blay) decided not to contest again for the National Chairmanship position in the party, he came and consulted him that he would like to contest when the time comes.

He expressed his deepest condolences to his family and the NPP adding that, God knows best.

Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie (popularly known as Sir John) was a Ghanaian lawyer and politician.

He held several political positions including serving as General Secretary of the NPP.

He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission of Ghana before his demise.
