Kumasi Mayor Off To Abuja For ECOWAS Consultative Meeting

The mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi is in Abuja, Nigeria at the invitation of the ECOWAS Commission headed by H. E. Jean-Claude Kassi BROU.
He will partake in a two-day (March 29-30, 2021) Consultative meeting of Decentralised stakeholders, comprising State governor’s, chairpersons of District Councils and City mayors on the ECOWAS Vision 2050.

The participating decentralized stakeholders will discuss the role cities and towns can play for the creation of a fully integrated, peaceful and prosperous ECOWAS for the benefit of all community citizens.

ECOWAS Vision 2050 is expected to replace the current Long term Development Agenda of ECOWAS Vision 2020 which was adopted by the Authority of Heads or State and Government in June 2007.

Its implementation was scheduled to come to an end in December 2020, hence the Abuja meeting to gather inputs for the development of the Post 2020 Vision of ECOWAS which will be factored into the ECOWAS Vision 2050.
