KUHIS Headmaster Commends Old Boys, Education Minister For Support.

Mr Bernard Hall-Baidoo, Headmaster of Kumasi High School (KUHIS) has commended the school’s old boys association for their continued support to the Grade A school based in Gyinyase.

In a letter of appreciation copied to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper Monday evening, Mr Baidoo stated that the management of the school was happy with the visit by the 1978 year group to a former Headmaster of Kuhis, Mr Y.B Atta last Sunday at his residence.

The Headmaster also commended the group for preparing a cadastral plan and layout of the school in its enlarged form which was covered in a glass and erected visibly in front of the school’s current administration block.

Mr Hall-Baidoo in the statement applauded the Old boys for taking time to interact with the newly admitted form one students and to share precious lifetime experiences with them.

DETAILS:
The Kuhis headmaster said it was also heartwarming that the old boys association could put funds together to help students who had difficulty buying items needed for their boarding status to do so.

He noted that the monies contributed by the various year groups had enabled the school on its own to support every single student who lacked any item needed for the boarding house.

This, he intimated had generated happiness within the form one year group on campus.

Such support to the school from the old boys association coupled with the impressive assistance from the current Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the headmaster said makes KUHIS a unique school in the Ashanti Region.

OLD BOYS REPRESENTATIVE:
Speaking to this reporter, Mr Samuel Obeng, Accra Chapter President of the KUHIS Old Boys Association said the welfare of students remains the priority of his group.

According to him, the management of secondary schools in the country should not be left to the government and the Ghana Education Service (GES) since both can’t handle the issues and challenges alone.

The old boys or old students association, he intimated, is therefore a useful tool which can coordinate support to augment that from the government.

He tasked KUHIS management to ensure that the students are given the right instruction and training so that they can come out with best results in all competitions as well as in their final examinations.
